Good day ladies and gentlemen, this is IRC news, I am Joy Stephen, a certified Canadian Immigration practitioner, and I bring to you this Provincial News Bulletin from the province of Ontario. This recording originates from the Polinsys studios in Cambridge, Ontario.
Eligibility change for candidates with one-year college graduate certificates
The OINP has made changes to the Employer Job Offer: International Student stream to expand eligibility for international students who have completed a one-year college graduate certificate.
Previously, the OINP’s Employer Job Offer: International Student stream allowed candidates to apply with a one-year credential from an eligible institution only if the program required the completion of a degree as an admission requirement.
With this change, the OINP allows applicants of any one-year college program that grants an Ontario College Graduate Certificate to qualify.
This amendment increases the number of certificate programs eligible for the OINP.
This change came/comes into effect on January 1st, 2024. This does not impact individuals who submitted an application prior to this date.
